Imagine the following scenario:
Before you guys voted on me, there were 6 players left (4-2). If it wasn't for a dead cop talking, Luti would have been lynched instead (3-2). Then that night we would kill TheNave, since his scapegoat role was no longer useful to us and almost certain Ramond wouldn't protect him (2-2). Mafia would win.
It was not a lucky doc who won the game, it was cheating.

That is how the game is supposed to be, it is not unfair. Mafia kill the people who trouble them the most, so that they can keep quiet. If dead people were to participate, then what would be the point of being dead? Moreover, everyone would believe them since their roles are revealed.

even though we had a deal to lynch luti, when I found out jer was innocent I would have gone for you either way

Why do you think we killed you?
Precisely so you wouldn't speak about it. It is not what Ariel wanted, that's how the classic game works. At night the town sleeps and everyone with a special role takes action. If you are dead, then you cannot say who you checked. Also, when playing in real life, usually the bad guys wake up first (before the cop) and choose their target.

No you wouldn't.
I defended Jernemies and he was innocent, you had absolutely nothing to incriminate me with.

no, you were more likely to be mafia than luti, I narrowed down the possible mafias to Pf, Jer and you... first I thought it was pf and jer, so when jer apeared to be innocent, you were the one left on my list... also at some point you said something to EF like: "fine, I'll go with Jer aswell, sounds reasonable... dunno what's his problem with PF though"... even though my reasons for both, jer and pf, were exactly the same, that kinda confirmed it for me that it has to be you and pf
I want a discussion about a couple of the rules. This is a quick post made from a mobile which I'll expand on later.
*No discussion during the night
Why?
*Dead men tell no tales
I wrote an essay about this, but lost it in the draft hell. Either way, I propose the old way of doing things (really ancient stuff,like 3 years ago. Opinions about this?
@empirefantasy
I checked TheNave, result was "Citizen".
@MangaD
Like I said, I never played it with that rule on these forums. And that rule wasn't specified anywhere, so don't blame me...

It will be added next round
But as I replied to a PM regarding the game, I broke that rule and I apologize.
My excuse is that I believed that the Host knew about it. Not like it compensates anything.
@Jernemies
I'll probably skip the next game, but I'm against those rules too.
The 'no discussion during night' seems useless to me in the 'strategy' sense, but cuts the flow of the discussions in the thread.
The 'dead men tell no tales' simply reduces the activity drastically, and we always struggle to get a decent amount of players to play. Plus Mafia will probably start killing the most active players first, resulting in a boring game in the late rounds.
(05-22-2015, 11:39 PM)Apocalipsis Wrote: As I think that I'm gonna die tonight, I'll post significant thoughts on some players, just in case:
Hellblazer: It seems he's not the cop from the last post... >_>
Prince_freeza: No posts yet. That's troublesome, even if he's innocent.
AmadisLFE: He's really participative and gives out so much information, which is a rare thing if he's mafia, but a good idea if he's the Godfather.
TheNave: He's participative and I usually agree with him a lot, so I wouldn't want to kill him in these early lynchs.
MangaD: He's really suspicious imo, because he bandwagoned me for no reason as the day started, and he's incredibly eager for AmadisLFE to be checked. I know that I was the one to suggest the checking of suspicious players to prove their (temporary) innocence, or not, but I think it would be wiser to check him. The reason is simple: if he's mafia and wants AmadisLFE to be checked, there's a great chance that AmadisLFE's the Godfather, and he's a goon. There's also the chance of him being Godfather (he's really participative), and he just want innocent people to be checked. Just thinking out loud here.
Ramond: He voted against me for no reason (probably wanted to point out bandwagoners since it was the third post of the day), but that's not that suspicious. Another (subtle) suspicious thing is that he wanted to end the day prematurely, presumably to kill AmadisLFE and avoid the No-kill. However, I also wanted to end this day by that time, so there's that.
So, those are the thoughts that I have right now. If I were Cop I would check MangaD, Prince Freeza and Ramond, in that order.
Now that I know all the roles, this list was pretty spot on: 4/4 specials (didn't expect AmadisLFE and MangaD to be Goons, though). I included Hellblazer for obvious reasons, and TheNave because I checked him in first night.

Ok, now that I'm here:
"Dead men tell no tales" could be turned into "Dead men have no memory". What I mean by this is, the dead should be able to be a part of the discussion as ghosts. When someone dies, strip them of their role and vote. They must not even hint at anything confidential, i.e. any exchange between them and the host (basically special roles info&actions, like cop investigation results). I can't remember exactly how this was handled back in the day, enlighten me. It could have been "Dead can't say anything useful" or "Don't say things which couldn't logically be assumed by any other player", but it mostly worked due to... factors.
This would be to prevent (including, not limited to)
-a real incentive to break the initial rule. We saw it almost go awry in form of our "ghost whisperer". This is a forum game, a time waster. The purpose of such a thing goes awfully amiss if someone is always doomed to drop off the first night. We saw our dead becoming quite bored, and it could have turned out wrong if they were to blatantly spoil the round. With a bit more lenient rule, the dead still feel more involved than they otherwise would be.
-Dead rounds. Quite simple, the active ones get killed, the rest... isn't active. Of course there's going after inactive ones, but at that point, you're giving up the round.
-... I was going to make a point, let this be a placeholder eff that, I don't think I need more for now
Yea i think dead people should speak. Yoy just dont give the reply immediately.
@MangaD
No i have not been trusting luti. Reasons of my vote was almost the same nave mentioned and since nave turned out to be innocent i had to believe him.
