ok, people seem to have forgotten about this, so ill change it.

It seemed to work fine in 13th zone. Don't see why it wouldn't here. Maybe this time around was just a coincidence with ppl being unable to enter due to other reasons?

Like I was really busy this week, and I wanted to put more thought into this theme than that straightforward and boring flame elemental I did the last time.

^What I would guess is: People in here aren't as focussed on spriting as the 13th zone members. They just need a little reminder >Hey, there is a contest going on< or some just forget about it.
I'd say that posting the sprites here has some advantages anyway. For instance, you can get feedback in the progress of the contest and not afterwards when it's too late. And well, for now I would have known who did which sprite anyway.

That's exactly the point. Thinking back to the last official contest, it was dead for almost 2 weeks until I put up the reminder-thingy....

i would suggest you to keep this as an option for everyone to decide on himself and you just post the number of current participants when someone enters anonymously so everyone still knows this is active
