lf2 - streetfighter style
#21
I could've sworn I saw some lf2-like Ryu lurking around here, or on another forum.

This thread has got me confused. I need some clarification.

Do you mean Beat 'em ups like Double Dragon, Streets of Rage, and River City Ransom?
Or do you mean 1 on 1 Fighting Games like Street Fighter, Blazblue, and Tekken?

Coz last I checked, Street Fighter and the lot aren't called Beat 'em ups.
Anyway I'm guessing you mean the latter rather than the former.

Well.. I dunno. They're never really called anything except Fighting Games, which is stupidly vague. lol. But Beat 'Em Ups have been used to mostly refer to stuff like river city ransom where you're 1 guy bashing on hundreds in a sidescrolling view, so it feels odd to refer to fighting games that way.

1 v 1 Fighting Game? ah well.. that's not important.

Anyway, my 2 cents is that its probably easier to use Mugen to create a polished LF2 1v1 Fighting Game... rather than to try and shoehorn the lf2 engine into doing that, which it obviously isn't intended for.

Either that or... FLASH! lol.

some games like mortal kombat 4 have tag 2 on 2 system so you can't really use the 1v1-Fight-Fame accuratelly

I can help with the jumps and runs if you figure out how to limit Z axis

erm, i think you misunderstood the whole idea. its about turning LF2 into a streetfighter-styled beat em up.

btw: probably finally found some sprites to rip as example sprites! (/°V°)/
